Gertens offers general tips on storing your mower for winter, however, consult your Operator’s Manual for specific maintenance requirements.

  • Add fuel stabilizer and run the engine for five minutes to distribute conditioned fuel through fuel system.
  • Stop the engine, allow it to cool, and drain the fuel tank OR run the engine until the fuel has completely run out.
  • Clean and replace the air filter.
  • Clean the mower thoroughly.
  • Battery (if applicable) – remove battery from the unit and fully charge prior to storage.
  • Replace any damaged or worn parts.
  • Lubricate your mower per the Operator’s Manual.

Storage:

  • The engine must be cooled off before storage.
  • Cover unit and store in a clean, dry location out of the reach of children.

NOTE: Never store unit in your house (living area) or basement when ignition sources may be present such as a hot water heater, space heater, clothes dryer and the like. Gasoline and fumes are highly flammable and explosive. Fumes also can be dangerous if inhaled.
